Only dislike is that you can hear the noise of the HWY. Campgroung is beautiful and our campsite was free of mosquitoes.
Bathrooms and showers pretty clean just a few moths and grass-hoppers but they don't bother you. Very nice state park.
This is a cute small state park that has a decent hiking path. Originally we were heading for Witches gulch but decided it wasn't worth spending $70 just to hike a trail since you can only get there by the Dells upper boat tour. This hike was just as beautiful and only the cost of the state park admission sticker. I can't speak to the amenities, but the hiking path had gorgeous views.
The bugs on the hike are unbearable. Hike the trail in the fall or winter for the best experience. Nice campground in the Dells, but sites need gravel for parking big rigs. See video. Close to many activities and walgreens if you forget anything.
Very neat campground. Highly recommend using Google maps to check out your site location before booking. Campsite 73 is about 55 yards from the highway 12 and you hear road noise all night long. Otherwise, clean bathrooms for a campground and great hot water showers. I would stay here again!
Annual trip, just a few miles off the strip. It's a great little park with some amazing hiking trails and great sites. We will b there again next year!
The park seems very beautiful driving in..some nice layered rock outcrops, beautiful tall pines and a ridge to climb up into the park.
Sites are pretty close with some trees in between but not much. It's loud. Very loud. Other campers are loud and don't seem to have much camping etiquette. The highway is loud, but seems busy enough that it's almost white noise at times, but if that sound bothers you, don't stay here because it's close.
The bathrooms are clean, the pit toilets smelled pretty bad. They seem to need better ventilation or something.
Lots of trees for hammocks.
As State Parks go, this one is pretty limited. It's just a campground with a short loop trail. I stopped by because I am trying to see all the parks and the loop was pretty but not something you make a trip for. There is some noise from traffic which reduces the peacefulness. But if you need to camp and can't get into Devil's Lake or Mirror Lake or the private campground closer to those parks, this would be a good spot to check out. Or, if you are doing a Dells trip and just want a little nature respite from the tourist trap areas, this and Chapel Gorge are two nice, easy, and short hikes within ten ish minutes from there. It does have a staircase and the trail is narrow and uneven though so keep that in mind for your group!
Beautiful. Not too long of a hike and if you dont want to stay at a waterpark, camping out here would be really nice for a night or two.
